Cloth that moves the way light does.

Linen cut wide for hot afternoons. Cotton washed until it falls soft against the arm. Every thearah piece is made by hand in a small workshop, in runs of forty or fewer — so the dress you pack for the coast is not the dress arriving at the next table.

How a thearah piece is made

01

The cloth is chosen first

We buy narrow-loom linen and long-staple cotton by the bolt, then wash and dry the whole run before a single pattern piece is cut. It shrinks in our hands rather than yours, and it arrives already soft — the way good cloth is supposed to feel on the fourth wear, on the first.

02

Cut by one pair of hands

A run is forty pieces or fewer, cut and sewn in one boutique workshop rather than parcelled out down a line. Hems are turned twice, side seams are French, and the tag carries the initials of the woman who finished it.

03

Finished by hand, then sent

Headbands are knotted, scarves are rolled and whipped, buttons are sewn with a shank. Everything leaves folded in unbleached cotton — no plastic, no filler — and travels to forty-two countries from a single table.
